Canada Strong Pass
The Canada Strong Pass makes it easier than ever to explore right here at home in Nova Scotia this summer. From June 19 to September 7, 2026, visitors can enjoy free admission to beautiful Parks Canada sites like Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The program also includes free admission for youth (17 and under) and discounted rates for young adults (18–24) at participating museums, including the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, and Ross Farm Museum. With no physical pass required, it’s a simple and affordable way for families to get out, explore local history, and experience Nova Scotia’s rich culture and natural beauty.

Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit

Making Tax Filing Easier for Canadians
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is introducing new automatic tax filing services to make it easier for eligible Canadians with lower incomes and simple tax situations to file their taxes and receive the benefits they qualify for. Beginning with a small pilot in Fall 2026 (pending legislative approval), the CRA will be able to file tax returns on behalf of some eligible individuals who do not owe taxes. Starting in 2027, eligible Canadians will also be able to review and approve pre-filled tax returns through their CRA account before submitting them. These new services are designed to reduce barriers to filing taxes, helping more people access important benefits and credits such as the GST/HST Credit, the Canada Child Benefit, and other federal and provincial programs—all while making the tax filing process faster, easier, and more accessible.
