Acadian Days at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site

Last night, I was pleased to attend the opening of Acadian Days at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site. We kicked off the weekend with live music, poetry, and many wonderful conversations.
A special thank you to Paul Boucher, President of Société Promotion Grand-Pré, Ben McCulley and all of the volunteers whose time and hard work make this celebration possible.
There is still lots happening today and tomorrow, with activities for the whole family.
Saturday, July 11: Family Day
12:00 p.m. – Lunch, free with a suggested donation of $10
12:00 p.m. – Acadian music with Pieds à Terre
12:45 p.m. – Acadian called dance with Pieds à Terre
5:15 p.m. – L’Autre Acadie, a French-language documentary exploring two lesser-known Acadian communities in Nova Scotia
Sunday, July 12: Community Day
9:30 a.m. – Circus Suitcase Experience for children, presented in French by Danse en l’Air
11:15 a.m. – CRI de Terre artist-in-residence presentations
11:45 a.m. – Vickie Deveau et amis de la Baie, featuring French bluegrass music
12:00 p.m. – Free community barbecue
1:00 p.m. – Bluegrass music with Paul Hébert
All events are taking place at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site, 2205 Grand-Pré Road. I hope everyone has an opportunity to take part in this wonderful weekend!
