Welcoming Emergency Management Kim Masland, MLA for Queens to the Valley

It was a pleasure welcoming Emergency Management Kim Masland, MLA for Queens to the Valley this week for a full day focused on the people and organizations who help keep our communities safe.

Our tour included stops with Valley Communications, Valley Search and Rescue, Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, New Minas Volunteer Fire Department, and a working lunch with municipal leaders, emergency management partners, Valley Communications, Fire Service Advisory Committee members, and GSAR leadership.

These conversations are incredibly valuable. They give our frontline responders and volunteers the opportunity to speak directly about what is working, the challenges they are facing, and what they need to continue serv

ing our communities effectively.

I’m especially grateful to the volunteers, dispatchers, firefighters, emergency management staff, municipal partners, and community leaders who took the time to meet with us and share their experience.

Thank you to Minister Masland for coming to the Valley, listening to our local priorities, and seeing firsthand the dedication behind emergency services in our region.
