Youth at the Legislature

It was a pleasure to bring students to the Legislature on April 22 for a tour and a debate. It was incredibly encouraging to see how engaged they were throughout the day.

We had been planning this visit for the past few months, and it was clear how much work the students had put in to prepare. They came ready with their talking points and did a wonderful job debating their chosen topic, a 4-day work week, after being divided into government and opposition.

Thank you to Kyle for leading the tour, to the staff who helped make the day such a success, to the Speaker for doing such a great job, and to the Sergeant-at-Arms for sharing the meaning and significance of the Mace. It was a valuable and memorable experience for everyone involved.

Watching these students take part in the democratic process with such confidence, respect, and enthusiasm was truly inspiring.
